We are always seeking happiness and trying to avoid problems, but where is true happiness to be found? Where does meaning in our lives come from?
Happiness and suffering are states of mind, and so their main causes cannot be found outside the mind. If we want to be truly happy and free from problems, we must learn how to control our mind.
In these classes we will explore the source of lasting happiness and come to understand how we can bring this into our everyday life through cultivating minds of love, compassion and wisdom to better understand ourselves and others.

Then we can take control of our experiences and live a meaningful way of life. Everyone can do this – we just need to know how to.
This set of classes will help us understand how our mind creates our experiences and feelings and how through putting into practice proven methods we can change our mind and enjoy a relaxed life, that benefits ourself and others.

Life can be hard! It’s full of ups and downs. We seek happiness and try to avoid unhappiness. By applying effort to training our mind, we will develop minds which lead to happiness and an ability to let go of unhelpful minds and attitudes which cause us to feel unhappy. We can develop our concentration, focusing our mind in meditation, helping us achieve real and sustained positive changes. When we combine these with wisdom, our daily life can be transformed – not because our external problems all disappear, but because we can deal with them in a positive, even joyful manner, whilst keeping a happy, peaceful mind.
These classes will help us understand how to move from an ordinary view to one filled with joy no matter what life throws at us.

Each class comprises a talk and two guided meditations. At the end of the class, you will have a chance to ask questions to the class teacher. You do not need to be Buddhist or have prior experience of meditation.
