Stress-Less

Stress gets us everywhere in our modern, busy world. Stress can come up from just about anything – our work, our family and friends, difficult situations…. the list is endless. But what is stress and why do we experience it? During these classes we will examine how we respond to different situations, how we view the world around us and how our mind influences what we experience.

With a little wisdom and some practical meditations, we can most definitely destress and let our worries and cares melt away. When we achieve some inner peace, no matter how small and fleeting, we gain space in our mind enabling us to respond to stressful situations with a positive approach. Instead of reacting with anger and frustration we can calmly look to finding solutions to our problems!

Whether we have experience of meditation or not these classes are an invaluable part of our meditation toolkit.

Accepting What Is

Tuesdays 7pm – 8.30pm

June 4, 11, 18, 25

Accepting What Is

We often think, “It shouldn’t be like this!”, when something goes wrong or we don’t fulfil our wishes. Likewise, we often look at other people and think, “they shouldn’t do/say that!”.

“Should” is a very useful word but we frequently use it in the context of the things we don’t like or want, or which “should” be other than what they are. Instead, we could learn to accept that things are what they are, people are who they are and that what we might want is not necessarily what we get. That does not mean we do nothing to resolve a difficult situation, but it does mean we can approach it with wisdom and understanding and be effective in managing problems whilst keeping a happy mind.

When we can accept what is, instead of fighting against it, wishing it was something else, we free ourselves from the emotions and constraints we normally experience. With this freedom we can peacefully move on with our day, remain calm and when problems arise, we can overcome them without the upset and hurt.

These classes are suitable for everyone and everyone is welcome.

Finding Clarity

Tuesdays 7pm – 8.30pm

July 2, 9, 16, 23

Finding Clarity

We say the nature of mind is clarity, but what does this mean and why is it of any use to us? If we can gain insight into the nature of our mind through our own experience, we can understand what the mind is, how it functions and how our thoughts, feelings and emotions arise. With even a small understanding we can start to transform our lives by harnessing the power of our mind to work for us rather than against us.

Using special meditations on the nature of mind by following simple instructions, we can gain infinite benefits – from calming our mind and helping us to dissolve away distractions, worry and anxiety, to improving our concentration and mindfulness, these mediations will ultimately lead us all the way to enlightenment.

These powerful yet simple meditations can be used by anyone, and these classes are suitable for everyone be they a beginner or someone with experience.
