Kindness Made Easy

Tuesdays 7pm – 8.30pm

December 3, 10, 17

Kindness Made Easy

We hear the words kindness and compassion used a lot and certainly Buddha taught that compassion is a main cause of happiness for ourselves and others. But what do they really mean and how do we use our kindness and compassion to benefit ourself and others?

In these classes we will explore what compassion is and how we can easily build compassion into our daily lives; enabling us to maintain a happy, peaceful and loving mind regardless of our external conditions.

Using our understanding, we can use many methods to develop our compassion, and with familiarity and some effort, we will naturally and easily apply these when we encounter difficulties – transforming our unhappy mind into a happier, loving one.

Learn To Meditate

Learn to Meditate

We all want to be happy, and we all want to avoid problems and we put in so much effort trying to make this happen. But is there a reliable, fool-proof method for ensuring we are always happy?

Happiness is a state of mind, therefore the real source of happiness lies within the mind, not in our external circumstances such as our possessions, friends, work and so forth. If our mind is peaceful, we shall be happy, regardless of our external conditions, but if it is unpeaceful we shall never find happiness, no matter how much we try to change our external circumstances.

How do we find and keep a peaceful mind? Meditation is a great place to start. The purpose of meditation is to cultivate positive mental states, and to overcome negative mental habits. Meditation is the method to make our mind peaceful and can be practiced by anyone.

Everyone can benefit from these powerful tools to reduce and eliminate unhappy, unhelpful and negative states of mind. Simple, practical techniques will be taught so you can quickly learn to achieve a very real change in your daily experience.

In particular in this series of classes we will look at how to establish our own meditation practice that we love and how to sustain it and make it effective.
