How to Stop Overthinking

We often find ourselves with a seemingly unending stream of thoughts and feelings crowding our mind. Sometimes we may be seemingly obsessed with a particular thought or feeling, which we just cannot shake and no matter how hard we try, we just keeping thinking about that problem or feeling. Our thoughts can overwhelm us, leaving us upset, frustrated, angry or stressed.

In these classes we will learn where our thoughts and feelings come from, understand their temporary nature, like bad weather in our minds, and how with this insight we can very practically start to take control of them.

Combined with simple, effective meditations, we can free ourselves from these distracting thoughts and as our mind becomes quieter, we will naturally experience a sense of peace, relaxation and inner joy.

These classes are suitable for everyone, and no previous experience is needed.

Improving Confidence

How wonderful if we could carry a quiet confidence within us throughout our life.

We can have a clear understanding of our good qualities, our potential and our abilities whilst having faith in being able to rely on the teachings to lead us to improve ourseves. We can then hold this self-confidence no matter what problems and difficulties we may face in life. We can overcome self doubt, anxieties, or limited self-views we hold, when we understand our true nature and the potential we have for growth and development and our ability to face difficulties with courage and wisdom.

In these classes we will explore what it means to develop a wise confidence and how we can train our mind to overcome any obstacles and difficulties a lack of confidence in ourselves may cause.

Overcoming Mental Busyness

Busy, busy, busy…. why is our mind always so busy? Even when we have time away from the daily grind our minds are so often filled with busy thoughts about everything and it can seem like they will never stop coming.

This short series of classes will take a dive into where our thoughts come from, where they go, and why they arise. With some understanding of our mind, we can learn how to engage with our thoughts in a helpful way that calms and quietens our mind. When our mind is peaceful, we will naturally feel happy and contented.

By engaging with our busy mind in a positive way rather than trying to “shut it up”, we can welcome thoughts, see them in a realistic manner and gently let them go. This gives us the space in our mind to deal with life calmly and frees us from the stress and anxiety of that busy mind!

About the Teacher

Andy presents the teachings and meditations in an inspiring yet practical way. He is very skilled at explaining how to make these teachings immediately effective in our busy modern lives, to help both ourselves and everyone around us.

What can I expect at a class?

Each class comprises a talk and two guided meditations. At the end of the class, you will have a chance to ask questions to the class teacher. You do not need to be Buddhist or have prior experience of meditation.
