WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION (DATA) DO WE COLLECT?

Your personal data (any information which identifies you, or which can be identified as relating to you personally for example, name, address, phone number, email address) will be collected and used by us. We’ll only collect the personal data that we need, and that data will never be shared by us with third parties.

We usually collect only the following data:

  • your name
  • your email address

But if you choose to hold an KMC Plymouth Membership or to join one of the enrolled study programmes (Foundation Programme or Teacher Training Programme), we will also ask you for your:

  • full name
  • email address
  • daytime/home/mobile telephone number(s)
  • home or other appropriate correspondence address

HOW WE WILL USE YOUR INFORMATION?

The principal reason we will use your information to contact you, if you choose to receive contact from us, is to send you:

  • information about classes and other events which we think will be of interest to you by email
  • information in response to a direct or indirect request made by you – such as an email or telephone inquiry you have made to us.

We use the information that is collected about you for a variety of internal purposes. We may ask that you provide us with your name when attending our classes and other events for the purposes of identifying you when you have paid in advance to attend an event. We also ask you to “sign-in” at our events as a means to verify our income for accounting, audit and legal reasons. Your individual personal data is not actually utilised in this latter case but is used in aggregate form to verify, for example, the number of attendees at events.

We will only send you information if you agree to receive it and we will never share your information with a third party.

Data for memberships and enrolled study programmes is collected for the purposes of administering your membership and enrolment and in maintaining contact with you during your membership and/or studies. It may for example, be used to send you email updates about your study programme, personal communications relevant to your study or membership from Centre staff/managers and other pertinent information about the Centre and its activities.

We may disclose the information that we collect about you when we have reason to believe that it is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, to us or to others. We may also disclose your information when we believe the law requires it. We will never otherwise release, share or sell your information in a third-party.

GAINING YOUR CONSENT TO STAY IN TOUCH

Email Communications
When you provide an email address to us either at a drop-in class or via our website to receive information about our classes and events, you will need to give us your permission to contact you. We will ask you to do so by “opting in” and ticking the relevant consent to our sending you emails.
