The Retreat
25th October is a special day in the Kadampa calendar. Therefore, this day retreat will focus on profound teachings of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment; and how we can have faith in Je Tsongkhapa, his teachings and the path to a lasting happiness. If we follow the path purely and sincerely, we are guaranteed to fulfil our potential for a pure mind and to attain the great bliss and happiness of enlightenment.
Whether we are new to these teachings or not, this very special day will be accessible and give us the faith and encouragement to follow the path to a better future for ourselves and all living beings.
The day will finish with us following the meditative prayers of Heart Jewel – a special way to gain faith and trust in Je Tsongkhapa and the path to enlightenment.

Dealing With Pain
Saturday 22nd November 2025, 10am-1.15pm
From time to time, we all experience either physical pain or the mental pain which arises from the problems and difficulties we have in our lives. For some, this may be living with a long-term health condition whilst for others it may be the temporary pain of an occasional headache. Others may have to live with the emotional pain of their difficult circumstances.
Whatever the extent, we all experience the pain of suffering in its many guises, but none of us want to. We try hard to avoid it and get rid of it when it does arise which can in turn cause us even more of an issue.
When we apply some wisdom and compassion towards our pain, we can learn to see our suffering in a different light, approaching it with patience, acceptance and understanding. We will then find our emotional response lightens, giving us the freedom in our mind to let go of our suffering and to hold a mindset which is peaceful, calm and contented. Pain may still arise but our experience will be transformed.

Purification Retreat
Sunday 7th December 2025
This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to learn to rely on Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification, and practice a special meditation to free ourselves from all of our negative karma.
We spend all our time and energy trying to avoid problems by making changes to our external world. However, our unhappiness and difficulties are not caused by the external world but are the result of the negative karma we have created in the past through our own harmful actions.
By relying on Vajrasattva, all our experiences will be positive, we will have a peaceful, pure mind and will easily remove obstacles to our spiritual development.
Attend all, or as few or many of the sessions as you wish.

Supreme Unchanging Friend
Saturday 13th December 2025, 10am-1.15pm
We all need good friends. We often rely on friends and family amongst others for help and support when we face challenges. But sometimes such people are not available to us; or they are simply not able to help us.
However, we can seek and receive the entirely reliable care, love and friendship of the enlightened beings we know as Buddhas whenever we reach out. By relying on the Buddhas, we can receive the unwavering friendship which comes from their unconditional love and pure good intentions for us. They are always there for us and want only for us to find the unrivalled happiness of fulfilling the true meaning of our precious human lives.
On this half day course, we will explore how to connect with the enlightened energy of the Buddhas, how they can help us and guide us to a deep inner peace and happiness in any circumstance. We will receive clear, practical instructions on how we can always have access to these supreme unchanging friends who will always be there to help us whenever we reach out.
No previous experience or knowledge is required to attend this event and everyone is welcome.
