Empowerment of One Thousand Armed Avalokiteshvara

Empowerment of One Thousand Armed Avalokiteshvara

Saturday 7th February 2026, 10:30am – 4.30pm

Everyone is welcome at this very special event.

During this very special day, Gen Kelsang Dragden, Resident Teacher at KMC Plymouth, will grant the blessing empowerment of One Thousand Armed Avalokiteshvara. This is a series of special guided meditations to gain a deep connection with this enlightened being.

One Thousand Armed Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the universal compassion of all enlightened beings. By relying on Avalokiteshvara we will naturally increase our own compassion. Through receiving this empowerment, we are connecting with Avalokiteshvara’s special enlightened energy which will help us to grow our own precious minds of compassion and love. This is a rare opportunity to receive a very powerful empowerment.

If you have any questions about the empowerment please contact us HERE or speak to one of our volunteers at the centre who will be pleased to help you.

We shall be using the prayers The Yoga of 1000 Armed Avalokiteshvara (prayer booklets will be available for use at the centre). If you wish to purchase your own copy you may do so from KMC Plymouth or this, and other related items, are available from TharpaPublications HERE.

What is an Empowerment?
An Empowerment is an event in which we receive, or have bestowed upon us, special blessings (the transformation of our mind from an unhappy state to a happy state), that heal our mental continuum and awaken our pure nature – our potential we all have to become an enlightened being.

An Empowerment is the gateway through which we enter the Tantric teachings of Buddha; the means of training our mind by bringing the future result, or Buddhahood, into the present. It is the supreme path to full enlightenment.
