New Kadampa Tradition Day 2023
A special day of celebration at KMC Plymouth
Saturday 1st April 2023
The first Saturday in April is set aside to commemorate the founding of NKT-IKBU by Venerable Geshe Kelsang in 1991 and now is celebrated at centres across the world. Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace. Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU.
The 4pm Prayers – A Free Event for Everyone to Enjoy
Everyone is welcome to join us at 4pm, for Offering to The Spiritual Guide Puja. This is an opportunity to experience a deeply meaningful and joyous practice in which chanted meditations are combined with making offerings and other acts of devotion in front of all the enlightened beings.

We’ve probably all heard of Tantra, but what is it? How do you practice it? How does it help with our normal everyday problems?
Authentic, qualified instructions on Tantra are rare to find. Learn the beautiful practices of Tantra, relax and enjoy learning how to be swept away to the pure land! This course is suitable for everyone.

Saturday 13th May: 10am – 3.30pm
When life is so uncertain and pressures and difficulties are coming at us from all angles we need to find an authentic feeling of protection and security. The things that we normally turn to usually only provide temporary pick-me-ups, we need learn to develop a deep and genuine feeling of safety and refuge. On this course we can explore what can really provide this and establish an inner resilience in the face of adversities.
There will be an opportunity to take the Buddhist Refuge Vows at the conclusion of the day.

Deepen your experience of creating a place in your heart where you feel protected from your problems. With relaxing Buddhist Prayers and guided meditations, this retreat day is a lovely chance to get some space and develop a lasting peace.

Day Retreat
During this special day of contemplation, we will explore and engage in the meaning of the Liberating Prayer and how these precious words reflect the great kindness of Buddha in teaching us how to liberate ourselves and others from all unhappiness and suffering. This meditation workshop will give practical and uplifting explanations of how we can transform the most demanding and difficult situations into opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
We will learn how to use meditation to relax and still the mind, then look at techniques to recognize and let go of negative states such as anger, unhappiness and stress, and how to find more constructive and peaceful responses to the constant challenges of modern life.

A lovely chance to engage in a relaxing guided meditation in a unique setting.
With Kadampa Buddhist Monk Gen Kelsang Dragden, he will guide a simple meditation where we can connect with a peaceful mind right in the midst of the city.

Meet at Smeatons Tower lighthouse at 10.30am and we’ll then go to a slightly quieter area.

Set in the exquisite award winning Princess Pavillions Gardens in the delightful grotto area, engaging in meditation in that location is a real treat.
With Kadampa Buddhist Monk Gen Kelsang Dragden guiding the wonderful Prayers for World Peace and a beautiful meditation this is not to be missed!

A lovely opportunity to spend time with like-minded people whilst enjoying a nice stroll in the local countryside.
This walk will be around Mount Edgecumbe.
You can meet at KMC Plymouth,
at the Matflower Steps,
or at the Cremyll and Mount Edgcumbe Landing jetty.
There’ll be a guided meditation along the way and plenty of chances to stop and enjoy the views and your bring-your-own-picnic.
The walk won’t be strenuous and is suitable for most. Children and dogs welcome.
